New Years Collage
This is my first time creating a mural with full creative freedom. I used tons of construction paper, music sheets, sharpies, and cut-outs from the internet. At first, I had difficulty figuring out how I wanted to make my piece (what materials to use, where to use them, ect.) but eventually, I settled on what you see now. By far the most difficult part was the vines since I had to cut out each one to give the illusion of them wrapping around the body. I'm still not finished with it 100%, but it's coming along nicely.
Wow! This came out really well and I love the 3d use and different patterns you incorporated. I would love an explanation of why you used each pattern and what they mean. Also, a description of what the piece's meaning is.
ReplyDeleteThis piece is nice! I think that it is very creative and entreating to look at, at first i didnt see the body but then it caught my eye! Maybe something to outline the body a bit more or maybe a color around it to make it pop
ReplyDeleteOOP. I reaallly like what you did with the vines to make them look almost 3D compared to the rest of the piece. The hands were drawn very well and I like the way the shirt matches the rose theme going on. I understand it isn't finished but one thing you could do is write some words or draw little roses on the sheets of solid colored sheets of paper to keep that theme going :D
ReplyDeleteI can easily tell that you put a lot of time and effort into this piece and it really shows. The execution is amazing!
ReplyDeleteThis piece is great, I especially love the magazine hair you cut out and used on the person that is very creative. I also love all the different textures and materials used such as the tissue paper, music sheets, and construction paper.
ReplyDeleteI love how the image really pops the the print that you and since you said you're not done I would say to continue the direction you're on and to consider adding more features to the face.
ReplyDeleteI cannot stop staring at this piece! It's thought out and even though you haven't completly finished it yet, It still enraptures your audience. I know Zoie already mentioned it, but it would be nice to see the body a bit more because it really does blend in with the background.
ReplyDeleteOoo nelly. This piece is very creative and you have outstanding composition skills. The cut out hands are the best part and are carefully done while the rest of the person's body is outstanding. The thorns, shirt, and background especially work well together. The only question I have is how do the sheets of music tie in with your concept. Overall, I see this collage as a success.
ReplyDeleteI love this piece a lot because it's very creative as far as the cut outs, designs, and patterns the boy and the background is made out of. Would love to know what this all means in your description.
ReplyDeleteI really like your piece Chace! It is so you and portrays your emotions and personality all in one. I will say that when I look at it though, I don't really understand your goals here, and they weren't explicitly stated in your artist statement. But it's coming along nicely.
